Effective January 1, 2014, this training is now a licensing course required of all new telecommunication specialists. The course must be completed within one year of hire by an agency. Participants must meet state minimum standards set forth by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE), pass the course, and pass the TCOLE state exam in order to become licensed.
This class is open to individuals seeking licensing on their own or for individuals who are already working for a police agency. Those applicants not already working for a police agency will need to complete a psychological and criminal background. Contact [email protected] for more information on this process.
It is required to complete TCIC/NCIC #3802, Crisis Communications #2120, and NIMS classes before taking this course. Check our website for class dates. NIMS 100 and 200 classes can be completed through FEMA online at: http://www.training.fema.gov/IS/NIMS.aspx
*Before registering for the Basic Telecommunicators Course, all applicants must first take the AACOG entrance exam.

There is no charge for the entrance exam.
