NOTICE:  The Alamo Area Regional Law Enforcement Academy will no longer be accepting cash as a payment method for courses.  This new procedure will speed up the registration process, and most importantly, not delay the classroom instruction.  The accepted methods will be money order, personal check, debit and/or credit card.

Please search the calendar for available classes! 

The academy provides continuing education for licensed law enforcement professionals.  Peace officers, corrections officers, and telecommunicators are able to advance their proficiency certifications through the intermediate, advanced, and master level courses available through the academy.

 

Would you be interested in a Supplemental Peace Officer Course (TCOLE #1018 - 120 Hrs)? 

Currently, we do not offer this class, but we are searching for anyone who is interested in taking this course.

Students may enroll online or in person. The online enrollment form serves as confirmation.  Only in the event of class being full or postponed the academy will send notification via email.

Online Enrollment

Find the course you want to take on the calendar.  Click on the course name and click on "Online Enrollment."   Complete the online registration form.

In Person

Enrollment can be done in person by completing the registration form and bringing it to:

Payment for the course will need to be collected when registering in person.

Agency Request Form

The Academy does accept credit cards and debit cards. A credit/debit card fee (2%-3% of course cost) is added to credit card and debit payments. Training can also be paid by check or money order. Payments must be pre-paid. The attendee will be asked to fill out, legibly and completely,  an in-house registration form.  Certificate of Attendance and Completion of class will be generated with this form and TCOLE credits will be reported to attendees PID number.

Cancellation Policy:

Students needing to withdraw from a course should contact academy staff at (210) 362-5291 or [email protected] no later than 72 hours prior to the scheduled start time of the class. Failure to do so may result in a 25% cancellation fee. Repeated violations of the 72 hour cancellation policy may result in restricted ability to register for future courses.  No refunds will be issued if cancellation is not made prior to the start of the class.

Firearms, tactical driving, defensive tactics, and telecommunications courses are open only to law enforcement officers. Students enrolling in these courses are required to provide a copy of their law enforcement credentials at time of registration.

Individuals who are not licensed law enforcement professionals may be eligible to attend some academy courses. To inquire whether non-law enforcement support staff is qualified to attend a course, please email [email protected] or call 210-362-5291.
