This 8-hour course will provide the student with information and guidance on the creation of effective search and arrest warrants. The various parts of a warrant are covered in detail as well as key sections of the Texas Code of Criminal Procedure, Chapters 15, 18 and the 4th Amendment. During the class the students will write sample search and arrest warrants so a laptop with removable storage media (flashdrive) is recommended.

This course is one of the courses required for the Criminal Investigator Certification Program.

Students needing to withdraw from a course should contact academy staff at (210) 362-5291 or [email protected] no later than 72 hours prior to the scheduled start time of the class. Failure to do so may result in a 25% cancellation fee. Repeated violations of the 72 hour cancellation policy may result in restricted ability to register for future courses.
