This course covers the fundamentals of the shield in patrol level capacity. Understanding the shield’s advantages and limitations while being used is paramount to the success of the officer’s response to critical incidents; responding to various calls and deployment, moving with the shield, moving with multiple officers, and response to rescues.

Student will need:

Rifle (optional)

Pistol

Three pistol magazines and three Rifle magazines

100 rifle (optional)/200 pistol ammunition

Holster with retention

Magazine carrier/pouch

Eye and hearing protection

Agency issued shield if possible

Clothing appropriate for the weather Food and water
